1.The steps to become a volunteer are:

Complete an application (you'll be directed to the application after completing this screening)
Personal interview
Attend a two-hour orientation (virtual or in person)
Health screening
Background check
On-campus service training

2.If you are extended an offer to become a volunteer, we ask for the following commitments. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis (including but not limited to "snowbirds" or seasonal residents). Please outline your exception on the application on the next page.(Required.)

I can commit to volunteering 1 day a week - same day/time each week (typically a 4-hour shift).

I can commit to volunteering for 6 months.

I can commit to being up to date on my vaccinations. The seasonal flu shot vaccine is required during flu season (medical or religious exceptions are available). The COVID-19 vaccine is optional, but HonorHealth continues to strongly advocate for all team members, clinicians, and volunteers to keep their COVID-19 vaccinations up to date.

3.People are our priority in all service areas. Additionally, volunteer service has limitations. Please check next to each statement to confirm that you understand.(Required.)

Volunteering opportunities include front desk, surgery waiting, supply chain, pet therapy, spiritual care, nursing unit, music enrichment, emergency department, etc.

No volunteer opportunities involve direct patient care. For example, there are not positions checking blood pressure, working with physicians, etc.

Volunteer positions are based on hospital needs and your availability. You may not get your first choice of service area.

Shadowing, internships, and externships are not available.

We do not offer court-ordered community service hours.
